LawWorks is an independent charity and is the working name of the Solicitor's Pro Bono Group. The charity exists to encourage and support solicitors to carry out pro bono work to support individuals and communities who are unable to afford legal support.

Initial Electronic Advice is a new web-based system which provides brief legal information in response to straightforward legal queries. It is designed to assist not-for-profit organisations and advice agencies providing help to those who cannot afford to pay for solicitors privately. The whole system works on a pro bono basis: our volunteers give up their time for free.
IEA works by allowing lawyers from LawWorks member firms to sign up and view queries from these kinds of organisations, and to provide answers should they wish to.
